Beginning Friday, March 21, certain Google services will no longer be available to students due to state-mandated compliance with New York State Education Law 2-d. These changes are being implemented statewide because Google has not met the necessary standards for a Data Privacy Agreement (DPA) for these additional services.

As part of this update, the following Google Additional Services will no longer be accessible through student accounts:

  • YouTube (students will not be able to search for or browse videos, but teachers can still share videos with them through other educational tools)

  • Google Maps

  • Google Earth

  • Google Translate

Students will still have access to essential Google Core Services, including:

  • Gmail

  • Google Drive

  • Google Docs

  • Google Sheets

If students need help finding reliable resources for research, we encourage them to consult their school librarian for guidance.

We appreciate your understanding as we implement these required changes.
