RULER Approach
The ICSD has chosen the RULER platform to guide the delivery of lessons related to Integrated Social-Emotional Learning.
RULER is an evidence-based approach to social and emotional learning (SEL) that helps teachers and leaders learn the skills to create and sustain a positive emotional climate, as well as support the individual development of emotional skills for students AND adults.
RULER is an acronym for the five skills of emotional intelligence:
Recognizing
Understanding
Labeling
Expressing
Regulating
We have attempted to integrate RULER connections into the pages on this site and encourage all educators to incorporate RULER lessons into their instructional day.
