The ICSD is seeking community feedback on proposed changes to the 2024–2025 academic calendar before the Board of Education votes to adopt it at the Board of Education Voting Meeting on November 12.
The changes being considered aim to align the regional schedules and improve learning opportunities. The proposed changes are as follows:
Change the March Caregiver Conference Day and District-Wide PLC Day from March 13 and 14 to March 20 and 21. This ensures that BOCES students do not miss instructional days and allows educators to participate in regional professional development opportunities.
Add June 10 as a Regents Day for Ithaca High School. Due to the introduction of new versions of the Biology and Earth Science Regents exams, the state has mandated an earlier testing date to allow sufficient time for scoring. Given the large number of students required to take these exams, we recommend that June 10 be a dedicated day for those students taking the exams only.

We understand that schedule changes impact families’ plans, and the Board of Education is carefully considering these adjustments while seeking to obtain valuable input from the community before the vote. Your feedback is crucial in shaping the final decision.
If you have any thoughts or ideas about the proposed changes, we'd love to hear from you! Please provide your feedback via Let’s Talk by November 11: ithacacityschools.org/letstalk.
