Welcome to Belle Sherman Elementary. We are located on the East Hill of Ithaca, nestled in the rolling hills by Cayuga Lake. 

At Belle Sherman we are a diverse and inclusive campus of 347 students. Our proximity to two world-class institutions provides an international student body, as well as numerous successful collaborations at both Cornell University and Ithaca College.

Our instructional strengths consist of multidisciplinary units of study, a blended instructional model that includes game-based learning,  a reading/writers workshop approach to ELA, and lessons that incorporate cultural competency and diversity.

We have a responsibility at Belle Sherman to validate and affirm all students’ learning styles and to celebrate every student's race, ethnicity, and cultural background, ensuring that they are thriving each and every day of the academic year.
