Program for Inclusion and Neurodiversity Education (PINE)

The ICSD is proud to partner with the Program for Inclusion and Neurodiversity Education (PINE) at four of our elementary schools: Belle Sherman, Beverly J. Martin, Cayuga Heights, and Northeast.

PINE empowers school systems to rethink autism and transform inclusive practices. The PINE Platform offers educators innovative online training courses, mentorship, and support, shifting professional thinking to improve educational outcomes not just for neurodiverse students, but for everyone.

Like the ICSD, PINE also believes educators truly want to give all of their students the best possible education. The program focuses on students’ strengths, presuming competence and empowering the individual, creating a culture of collaboration and belonging. PINE believes that if you want to learn about autism and neurodiversity, you need to listen to the experts with lived experience. The majority of the program's content and materials are developed in partnership with experts in the autistic and neurodivergent community.
